About Dr. Love

Dr. Candace Love is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been helping individuals build healthier, more meaningful lives for over 30 years. Her practice is dedicated to helping adults
navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, health concerns, relationship challenges, and recovery from emotionally unhealthy and narcissistic relationships.

She is the author of No More Narcissists: How to Stop Choosing Self-Absorbed Men and Find the Love You Deserve (New Harbinger Publications), a book that has been translated into four
languages and has helped readers around the world better understand unhealthy relationship patterns and make healthier choices.

Throughout her career, Dr. Love has combined clinical psychology with health psychology and integrated behavioral healthcare. Early in her career, she worked as a Research Associate in
Health Psychology at the Center for Health Improvement and Prevention Studies at the University of California, San Francisco, where she participated in National Institutes of Health-funded research
focused on improving preventive healthcare and health-related behaviors. She has also authored and co-authored articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.

For 20 years (2006–2026), Dr. Love served as an Allied Health Practitioner and Health Care Associate at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals while continuing her private practice as a licensed clinical psychologist. This experience further strengthened her commitment to integrating psychological care with overall health and well-being.

Dr. Love also completed the Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health through the University of Massachusetts Medical School, further expanding her expertise in integrating
behavioral health with primary medical care.

Today, Dr. Love has a special interest in helping individuals recover from emotionally unhealthy and narcissistic relationships while building lives grounded in self-worth, healthy boundaries, and meaningful connection. Her work emphasizes recognizing unhealthy relationship patterns, healing from emotional wounds, and creating relationships that reflect one’s values rather than fear, loneliness, or old patterns.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Love is an avid animal lover. She rescues and rehabilitates feral cats and volunteers at WindWalkers Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy Center, a special place that provides equine-assisted services for children and adults with disabilities in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley and the surrounding communities. Dr. Love assists with activities ranging from therapeutic riding to all aspects of horse ranch work—which she absolutely loves, including mucking!
